Numbering of pins
Contact closure group
-
Pin 9: Ac Line Fail Contact (normally open): an output line connected to
a set of relay contacts that closes when the AC Line Fails and the UPS
is operating in battery mode. This shorts the output pin to pin 5 (Contact
Closure Common)
-
Pin 4: Ac Line Fall Contact (normally closed): an output line connected
to a set of relay contacts that open when the Ac Line Fails and the UPS
is operating in battery mode. This opens the connection between the output
pin and pin 5. (Contact Closure Common)
-
Pin 7: Low Battery Contact (normally open): an output line connected to
a set of relay contacts that closes when the remaining battery time drops
below the under-defined limit. This connects the output pin to pin 5 (Contact
Closure common)
-
Pin 5: Contact Closure Common: signal common for the Contact Closure Group
RS232 serial communications group
-
Pin 3: RS232 Receive Input: the serial communications input line

-
Pin 3: Shutdown Input: an RS232 input that shuts down the UPS if it is
held high for 200 milliseconds (a break signal) while the UPS is operating
